What is the OPEN Card?
The Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library, Tom Thomson Art Gallery, Billy Bishop Museum, and the Marine and Rail Waterfront Museum have partnered to create the OPEN Card.
This innovative partnership provides to the card holder all of the resources and services they know and love from the Library, as well as free access to the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, Billy Bishop Museum, and Marine and Rail Waterfront Museum.
Who can get an OPEN Card?

The Open Card provides free access to all 4 of our local cultural organizations: Billy Bishop Museum, Marine Rail Museum, Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library and the Tom Thomson Art Gallery. Each organization may have other types of memberships.
The Open Card is available to residents of Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs and Owen Sound. Residents of the Municipality of Meaford, based on a current service agreement, can also obtain an Open Card by showing proof of a current Meaford Public Library membership. Residents of Meaford without a Meaford Public Library membership will receive one as a condition of their Open Card membership.
What are some of the benefits of using an OPEN Card?
This new card provides to the card holder all of the resources they know and love from the Library as well as free access to the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, Billy Bishop Museum, and the Marine and Rail Waterfront Museum. Other benefits may include discounts to some programs and events and opportunities to borrow and use resources.
As an additional benefit, through the TOM’s affiliation with the Ontario Association of Art Galleries (GOG), the cardholder will also gain free admission to over 100 Ontario art galleries including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, MacLaren Art Centre, and Varley Art Gallery, to name just a few. Do I need to renew my card?
Yes! You will need to renew your OPEN Card annually. This can be done at the Library.
